The Corgi Collectors Club Aviation Archive Special for 2006 is this Focke Wulf FW190-A3 (Captive Eagle) MP499 in full RAF markings. Captured intact on 23rd June 1942 when its pilot Oberleutnant Arnin Farber circled the parachute of a victim he had shot down, then made a navigational error which made him fly North and inadvertantly land at RAF Pembrey in Wales. It proved invaluable to the RAF at a time when the FW190 was dominating the European skies. Flight tests proved it superior in all aspects to the current Spifire MkV and led to the development of the Spitfire Mk1X.
Limited to a mere 1,000 models, this fabulous looking model is a surefire investment and an essential part of any collection.
