Fantastic Century Wings model of the Vought A-7D Corsair 11 71354 MB of 353rd Tactical Fighter Squadron, 354th Tactical Fighter Wing flying from Korat air base in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict in 1972. Derived from the F-8 Crusader fighter and fondly nicknamed "SLUF" (meaning Short Little Ugly Fella), the Corsair served faithfully with USAF attack squadrons for many years. Limited Edition of only 1,500 pieces worldwide, of which only approx 200 have come to the UK and were all pre-allocated at launch. Highly detailed and accurate, the 1/72 scale Corsair features completed landing gear sub-assemblies that snap quickly into place, eliminating the need to attach individual gear doors and struts that are found on similar diecast models. They also feature realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details, pad printed markings and placards that won't fade or peel like decals, opening canopies revealing detailed cockpit interiors, selected moveable control surfaces, optional extended/retracted landing gear, presentation stand to display the aircraft "in flight", detailed removeable pilot, and authentic interchangeable ordnance loads complete with placards. Sold out everywhere and highly sought after. |
